Aja Jade Philpot is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). They received their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing in 2016.

From a small town in Michigan, Aja, named after a song by the band Steely Dan, has always had a passion for film and television. Starting at a young age, they always wondered why characters on television never looked like them. Where were the people of color?

Aja's goal is to use their skills to create powerful characters the audience can see themselves in. They want the world to think, see different perspectives, and allow those new perspectives to manifest a change within them. 

 

Aja believes that the world is their oyster. Their dream, like their inspiration Shonda Rhimes, is to change the world with television.
